Service · Hand-coded HTML / static sites

Hand-coded HTML,
nothing to patch.

Hand-written HTML and CSS for marketing sites that rarely change: fast by default, with no admin screen or database, and a fixed price per project. Your client gets the files. Your agency gets the credit.

The timeline

Mockup first,
then clean markup.

  1. Week 1

    Page list and mockups

Scope and page list agreed in writing, then every page designed as a mockup for your client to approve with you before any code is written.

  2. Week 2

    Written by hand

Semantic HTML and CSS, laid out at phone width first, with JavaScript only where the design actually needs it.

  3. Week 3

    Checks, sign-off, deploy

Markup, speed, forms and links checked on a staging URL. Once you approve, the files move to the client's host and the handover notes go out under your agency's name.

About 21 days is typical for a website build. The exact dates go into your fixed-price proposal before anything starts.

Sound familiar

A CMS the site
never needed.

Plenty of client sites are a handful of pages that rarely change. Running them on a CMS creates work nobody is paid for.

  • 01

Updates nobody is paid to run

Core, theme and plugin updates every month, on a brochure site whose content has not changed since launch.

  • 02

    A login page to defend

An admin screen and a database are one more thing to patch and back up, and your problem if the site is ever compromised.

  • 03

    Slow for no good reason

A theme, a page builder and a stack of plugins load on every visit, just to show a few pages of text and images.

Rent a team that already exists.

Only when you have a build to put on it. No salary between projects, no ramp, no gap when someone leaves.

The arrangement

Your client meets you.
They never meet us.

No credit in the footer, our name nowhere in the code, and our team writes from your email aliases whenever a client could see it.

  • No footer credit, no backlink

Nothing we build carries our name.

  • Your agency in the source files

    Meta author and code comments.

  • Your agency's email aliases

On every email a client could see.

  • Mutual NDA and non-solicit

    Signed before the first login.

What is in the build

Written by hand,
line by line.

Take a full static build, or one piece such as turning an existing CMS site into plain files. Whichever you take, you get the scope in writing before you price it.

  • 01

    Mockups before code

Each page mocked up at desktop and phone width, or taken from your designers' files, and approved before a line of HTML is written.

    • One mockup for every page on the list
    • Your design files used as they are
    • Client approval before the build
  • 02

    Semantic HTML and CSS

Readable markup with no framework or page builder underneath, so any developer on your team can open a file and follow it.

    • Headings and landmarks in order
    • Styles organized by component
    • Accessible forms and navigation
  • 03

    Phone width first

Layouts written for small screens first and scaled up, then checked on real phones and tablets before your client sees staging.

    • Tap targets sized for thumbs
    • Images served at the right size
    • No horizontal scrolling anywhere
  • 04

    Fast by default

No database queries and no plugin scripts, so pages are light from the start. Images are compressed and scripts deferred before launch.

    • Measured on the live URL
    • Key fonts and hero images preloaded
    • Nothing render-blocking left in
  • 05

    Search-ready markup

Titles, meta descriptions, schema and an XML sitemap written into the files, so search work can begin on launch day.

    • One H1 and clean URLs per page
    • Old URLs redirected to new ones
    • Search Console connected
  • 06

    Deploy and hand over

Files deployed to the client's host, contact forms tested on the live domain, and the source handed over under your agency's name.

    • Source zipped or pushed to your repo
    • Forms tested after go-live
    • Notes for your team on editing

The deliverable list

What ships,
file by file.

A static build is a set of files, so the deliverable list is short and easy to check. Copy it into your proposal unchanged.

Hand-written HTML and SVG markup in a code editor
Nothing to update after launch. The finished site is HTML, CSS and images your team can open in any editor. You pay the final invoice only after approving staging.

How it runs

From a page list
to a live site.

Six steps, and you are only needed for three of them. Everything between is ours to run.

  • You are needed at steps 1, 3 and 6
  • Final payment only after staging approval
  • Scope and price fixed before anything begins
  1. 01
    You

    You send the page list

The pages you sold, the client's current URL if there is one, and the deadline. We flag anything that really needs a CMS.

  2. 02
    Us

    We confirm static fits

A fixed-price proposal within 24 hours, with an honest note if the client would be better served by WordPress.

  3. 03
    You

    You pitch it as yours

Present the proposal under your agency's name, at your own price. We stay behind you and never meet the client.

  4. 04
    Us

    NDA, files, kickoff

NDA and non-solicit signed by both sides, brand files and host access received, dates fixed in writing.

  5. 05
    Us

    We design and hand-code

Mockups first, then HTML and CSS written by hand on a staging URL, with a team that answers 8 AM to 4 PM EST.

  6. 06
    You

    You approve, we deploy

When the staging URL is approved and the final invoice paid, the files go live on the client's host.

The portfolio

Most of our work is invisible.
By design.

Our agency builds ship under partners' brands, NDA-protected. What you can see: sites we own, and direct clients who agreed to be shown.

The alternatives

Hire, subcontract,

All three work. They just cost different things, and only one of them fixes the price before work starts.

What we need from you

Four things, then
we are out of your way.

Hand these over once. From then on, you only review the staging URL with your client.

  1. 01

    The page list and deadline

Which pages you sold and when they are due. Unsure whether static fits? Send the brief anyway and we will tell you.

  2. 02

    Brand files or designs

The client's logo, typefaces and brand colors, or the design files your own designers made. Either is enough to start.

  3. 03

    Final copy

Static pages are built around final text, so send it before the build. No copy yet? We can draft it, quoted separately.

  4. 04

    Where it will live

Login details for the client's host, or tell us where the site should go. Any host that serves plain files will do.

Partner feedback

The people who would
never admit we exist.

  • "We added SEO to the rate card in a month without hiring anyone. Three years in, not one client has asked who does the work, because there is nothing to find."

    FounderBrand studio · Austin, TX
  • "The strategist joins our client calls under our domain and knows the account better than we do. That is the part other providers cannot fake."

Operations DirectorPerformance agency · Chicago, IL
  • "We tested four providers. ServeVision was the only one that sent the outreach list before pitching, so we could veto our clients' competitors."

Honest qualifier

This is not right
for everyone.

We would rather say no early than take a project that was never going to work.

  • A good fit if…

    • You sell the work and own the client relationship
    • The site is a handful of pages that rarely change
    • Speed and security matter more than self-editing
    • You want a fixed price and real dates to put in the proposal
  • Not a fit if…

    • The client wants to edit pages every week: see WordPress development
    • The site needs a store, bookings or member logins
    • You want the cheapest possible per-hour rate
    • You want us to take a client off your hands: we never go direct to your clients, during the engagement or after

Questions

Before you send a build.

Book a call
When is a static site the right call?

When the site is mostly fixed marketing pages that change a few times a year: a brochure site, a campaign microsite, a portfolio. If the client needs to edit content often, sell online or manage members, a CMS is the better choice, and we will say so in the proposal.

How does the client update content?

Your team edits the HTML file directly, or sends the change to us as a small scoped job. If the client expects to edit pages themselves every week, WordPress is the better fit and we will recommend it before anything is built.

How do contact forms work without a CMS?

Forms post to a small handler on the client's host, or to a form service the client chooses, and submissions go to the inbox they name. Every form is tested end to end on staging and again after go-live.

Where can a static site be hosted?

On any host that serves plain files, including the client's existing hosting. The files belong to the client, so moving host later is a copy, not a migration.

Is a hand-coded site good for SEO?

The structure is in place on day one: clean URLs, one H1 per page, meta tags, schema and an XML sitemap. Light pages also help with Core Web Vitals. Rankings still depend on content and ongoing SEO work, which we can run under your brand.
